I have been looking into picking up a walther p99 9mm, but have yet to try one out.
ReplyDeleteThe ruger mini-14's are just really nice guns.
Have you noticed the anti gunners don't make near as much noise about a ruger as they do with say an ar-15, lol.
Yea but you can do some really neat things to a mini-14. You can dress them up nice - extended capacity mags, etc.
ReplyDeleteI bought a Ruger P90 45auto before Christmas from Tin Man's and it is sweet. Shoots really nice and handles great.
ReplyDeleteI have a Chinese SKS 7.62X39, Mosin Nagant 7.62X54, (2) 22 cal Marlin rifles, Traditions in-line 54 cal black powder, Mossberg 835 12 gauge, Hopkins & Allen 38 special revolver, S&W 38 special revolver, S&W 40 cal pistol, Glock 21 45 cal pistol, and a Glock 27 40 cal pistol. I don't have too many but enough. Trying to stock up on ammo now.
ReplyDeleteI also have a Glock 21. Outstanding weapon. I've never had a malfuntion and the accuracy is excellent.

Cisco,
ReplyDeleteI have a mini 14 and it is a very functional carbine. It has inherent accuracy problems beyond 100 yards. The barrel is thin and has a tendency to "whip" when it is fired which compromises accuracy. It shoots 5.56 NATO (.223).
I just picked up a S&W MP15 (ar-15). They say the accuracy is outstanding for a carbine but I can't vouch for that yet. It's a .223 cal.
If you can get an SKS (Chinese preferably also called Norinco) you can get a lot of nice stocks, magazines, picatinney rails, etc. for it, I have a Yugo and it is cool. SKS's are still cheap - $300.00 range. They are 7.62 x 39 which are hard to get but I just got 500 rounds from a source across the bay. Let me know if you want to get together and shoot a few.
I would like to meet up at the range in the near future; I am out of town this weekend. I like the Ruger line mini 14 & 30, my father in-law (got me into shooting) is a Ruger revolver fanatic. My ultimate rifle would be a M14 or derivative of that line, but I think my wife would kill me if a spent that much money on a weekend rifle. Is there a way to email or send private messages on this blog?
